Peter M. Coppinger is an experienced business litigator with over 20 years of experience successfully resolving complex business disputes before state and federal courts, arbitration panels, administrative boards, and via mediation and other alternative dispute resolution methods. His specialties include contract interpretation, negotiation and enforcement, real estate and construction disputes, including environmental matters, banking litigation, non-compete/employment matters, insurance claims and disputes involving public or quasi-public entities.
Peter is a graduate of Harvard University (B.A., 1982) and Notre Dame Law School (J.D., 1989). Before entering law school, he worked as a budget analyst for the Massachusetts State Senate Ways and Means Committee focusing on education, labor and economic matters. Peter has also served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the United States Court of Appeals for the First, Third, Fourth, Sixth, Ninth and Tenth Circuits and is a member of the Boston and Massachusetts Bar Associations.
Peter is past Chairman of the Board of Selectmen in Billerica, his hometown. He is also past Chairman of both the community's Housing Partnership Committee and its Long Range Master Planning Committee. He has served as Chairman of the Town Manager Screening Committee and on the Ditson School Building Committee, and currently serves as a Trustee for the Billerica Public Library. |
