Joseph H. Matzkin practices in the areas of business transactions, formation of business entities, mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions and developments, estate planning, estate administration, and alternative energy projects. His clients are involved in various business enterprises including manufacturing and service businesses, restaurants, food and beverage concessions, motion picture theater development, solar energy, commercial development and real estate construction.
Joe was born in Waterbury, Connecticut. He was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1970 after receiving his Juris Doctorate from Boston University School of Law in 1969, and Bachelor of Arts from Bates College in 1966. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Prior to joining Looney & Grossman in 1994, Joe was a member of Roberts, Newman & Katz, PA.
Joe has lectured in law at Boston State College, and served as a member of the Volunteer Lawyers to the Arts Panel for the Massachusetts Bar Association. He was a trustee and a member of the Bates College Board of Overseers, and a member of the Alumni Counsel, and its President for the years 1992 through 1995. He is currently a member of the Cheney Society of Bates College.
In 2006, he was named Massachusetts Super Lawyer. He is a member of the Boston, Massachusetts and American Bar Associations, sections on corporate and real estate law, a member of the Massachusetts Conveyancers Association, and a member of the Massachusetts Restaurant Association.
Joe has been a director, coach, and officer of various youth sports in the City of Newton. |
